Little River Bed and Breakfast
Little River came into existence in the 1850s after the Melbourne – Geelong railway was established. Farmers had the benefit of large tracts of land for grazing and beef, wool and dairy farming which were the principal business activities for many years.
TT Motorbike Races (now known as Grand Prix) were also held for many years in Little River with riders also claiming international wins and fame. A re-union of riders and bikes was held in Little River in 2008 with many of the original riders participating.
Hotels were built to service passing travelers and by 1865 the town had three hotels and a mechanics institute. In total five hotels were in existence over the years, only one remains – the Old Little River Hotel, now known as the Little River Bed & Breakfast located on Flinders Street.
